#2 Knights stay unbeaten with home victory
Haverhill, MA (12/02/2023) — The #2 nationally ranked Northern Essex Community College men's basketball overcame a slow start on Saturday afternoon to defeat MassBay Community College a 77-62 final score. With the win the Knights stay perfect at 11-0 overall and 7-0 in Region 21 play.
The Knights took a seven point lead to the locker room at halftime leading 40-33.
Luis Reynoso (Lawrence, MA) continued his strong play as he picked up his ninth double-double of the season with a game high 19 points and 15 rebounds while he also three blocked shots and seven assists.
Camill Palacioglu (Tuebengin, GR) provided a huge spark off the bench in the game with 13 points and three steals.
Ben Nkwantah (Methuen, MA), Edwin SamMbaka (Laris, FR) and Karl Wolfgang (Douala, CM) all recorded nine points each while SamMbaka and Wolfgang each had a pair of blocked shots.
NECC will hit the road on Tuesday when they travel to the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston for a 7:30pm tip-off with Roxbury Community College.
