Luis Reynoso named NJCAA Basketball Player of the Week
Haverhill, MA (01/31/2024) — Second year Luis Reynoso (Lawrence) of the Northern Essex Community College men's basketball has been named the NJCAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending January 28th. This is Reynoso's second career player of the week honor as he earned the recognition in November of 2022.
For the week, Reynoso helped lead the Knights to pair of wins over Community College of Rhode Island and Springfield Technical and in the process averaged 23.5 points and 15.5 rebounds while shooting 66.6% from behind the three-point line.
For the season, Reynoso is averaging 20 points and 14 rebounds helping the Knights to a 19-1 overall record and a current #5 national ranking.
Through 53 games over two seasons in the Knights uniform Reynoso has scored 982 points and is closing in on the 1,000-point milestone. He is looking to be the first player in the programs modern era to achieve the mark.
Reynoso and the Knights will return to the court on Saturday February 3rd when they hit the road for a matchup of Region 21's top two teams as they battle Quincy College at 7:00pm on the campus of Eastern Nazarene College.
