NECC's Paganini named NJCAA Goalie of the Week
Haverhill, MA (10/24/2024) — Northern Essex Community College sophomore goalkeeper Will Paganini (Derry, NH) was named the NJCAA Goalie of the Week for the week ending October 20 as announced today by the NJCAA. It the first weekly award for Paganini and he joins teammate Jadiel Bomfim (Nashua, NH) who was named player of the week in mid-September.
On the week, Paganini recorded two shutouts by making 12 saves in a pair of 2-0 victories over Community College of Rhode Island and Bunker Hill Community College. He recorded four saves against CCRI on Tuesday and eight against BHCC.
At the end of last week's games Paganini had a shutout streak of six plus games spanning 569 minutes of game action. On the season he's recorded nine shutouts and carries a 0.57 goals against average in 1,258 minutes of game action.
The Knights concluded the regular season with a 12-2 overall record and a perfect 8-0 in conference play. In the process they have earned the top seed and a first-round bye in the upcoming Region 21 Championship Tournament. NECC will host a semi-final match up against a yet to be determined opponent on Friday November 1st at 5:30pm at Whittier Tech. The region championship game is slated for November 3rd.
